Board of Directors

Our Board of Directors is responsible for Mukti's overall performance and compliance, providing strategic direction, effective governance and leadership on behalf of members and supporters.

Glenda Cresswick
B Ed.

Acting Chair

Glenda is our Overseas Development Advisor assisting Mukti in developing its community development work and project management. A trained teacher, Glenda was formerly the Overseas Projects Manager for The Leprosy Mission Australia and The Leprosy Mission International (SE Asia) prior to her retirement. Glenda spends time assisting at Mukti in India each year.

Secretary

Glenda leads the team as National Director of Mukti Australia. She also takes an active part in Missions Interlink, both on a state and national level which contributes to her understanding of the missions scene across Australia.

Claire Harris
BA, BComm, Chartered Accountant

Treasurer

Claire has worked as an accountant in public practice for 8 years. She has an active interest in mission and served as a Mission Treasurer with SIM in Benin, West Africa for two years.

Karen Crawford
DipT B (Adult Learning and Development)

Acting Chair

Now retired Karen was principal of a VET training college, where her work included mentoring programs, skills training for school refusers and training youth workers. Together with her husband Peter, Karen served in parish ministry for 40 years with strong ties to CMS Australia.

Deb Bowden
Interior Designer

Secretary

Deb is an interior designer by profession with a large Sydney company. She has visited our partners many times and has a passion for supporting Mukti Australia’s projects in India and Sri Lanka. Deb joined the Mukti Australia Board in October 2017 and has been working to develop business partnerships.

Louise Blakston
B Ed

Treasurer

Louise is married with 5 children and has a B Ed (Primary Teaching). She has a keen interest in overseas development and mission, and has visited various projects around the world.

Our Staff

The staff at Mukti Australia provides expertise, skills and a high level of commitment to ensure we are doing the best we can to positively impact the lives of the women and children at Mukti India.

Peter Warren
MFIA

Western Australia and Northern Territory Director (part time)

Peter and Kathryn have been a great asset since joining Mukti in late 2012. Coming from a background in the Leprosy Mission, they both have a great love for India and her people. Peter has been able to introduce many more people in WA and NT to the work of Mukti. We share Peter with Missions Interlink in WA as well.

Teela Mah
BA Early Childhood Education, Special Education

NSW/ACT Regional Director

Teela joined the team in July 2016. She has worked as an Early Childhood Special Educator for 30 years. Teela was previously one of our NSW Representatives, with an Indian heritage she has visited and lived in India, including Mukti, many times. Teela is passionate about cross cultural missions and is eager to expand and develop her team as well as support in NSW and ACT.
